The Library at Strathaird

Taking its name from the stunning lounge area that, until recently, housed over 4,000 books the Library forms the oldest wing of the main house and has an interesting history. Enjoying classically elegant features and design, the accommodation is arranged over two floors. Antiques and tasteful soft furnishings complete the picture.

It has a separate car parking area to the front of the property with its own front door and comprises:-

  • Spacious hallway, with plenty of room for outdoor clothing after a day on the hills.
  • The Library Lounge with its wood burning stove and enough books to please all interests.
  • Fabulous fully equipped Kitchen Diner with sleek grey décor and a big farmhouse table.
  • Separate shower room and WC on the ground floor.
  • Spacious Master Bedroom with comfortable king size bed and glorious views.
  • Large twin bedroom with single sofa bed and the best view of the Cuillins.
  • Fabulous bathroom with underfloor heating, bath with overhead shower, basin and WC.
  • Large area of wooded grounds for guests to enjoy with seating areas for fine, midge free weather. (Please note small children will require close supervision in the woods)

The Library and the Lodge at Strathaird are two stunning holiday homes off the road towards Elgol and have wonderful views across Loch Slapin and towards the famous Black Cuillin. Both have uniquely beautiful period features and all the peace and quiet you could ever wish for.

  • A wonderfully scenic winter stay in a well equipped spacious and welcoming house. which makes it so easy to feel at home. Particularly enjoyed watching the morning sun on the hills behind followed by exploring the area on foot and in the evening relaxing in front of that log fire in the library
Great location for all the delights of Skye .
